Welcome to the Singing Camel Web Site!
|  Due to my love affair with Rovers over the last 25 years, I have accumulated a lot of used parts which I will have posted for sale from time to time. Please check back periodically. I have also gained a little knowledge that I will gladly share on our boards or by phone. I also have an inventory of new parts; carburetors, exhaust manifolds, brake parts, other items that occasionally need to be replaced from time to time.
Once in a while, I have Series vehicles available for sale as well as an occasional Range Rover. I will also gladly do service work on Range Rovers, Discoveries or any Series Rover. Service work includes restorations, engine rebuilds, brake work, etc. I have also done coil spring conversions on Range Rovers from the air suspension models.  Sooner or later the time comes when you must say goodbye to an old friend or perhaps a child leaving for college. While you wish them the best it is always an emotional moment.
For Marc Waitek, the owner and restoration doctor here at Singing Camel Land Rovers the departure of a restoration is also an emotional time. Countless hours go into each project here at the shop and these vehicles become much more than simple machines made out of aluminum and steel.
Sooner or later they leave us for new caring hands. on June 28th, 2007 our latest project was completed and was loaded for delivery to Mr. Mark Love in Michigan. Mark has been anxious to receive his piece of Rover history and he should be getting his wish just in time for the 4th of July thanks to FedEx Custom Critical (Passport) driver Ron Cooper. While loading the Rover Ron was telling us he intended to not only have the Rover to Mark in Michigan by the 4th, but by the 2nd or 3rd! (Click the read more link for more on this story...)
Note: Update from the lucky owner: "As we head back to Arizona after a very hectic summer I wanted to drop u a thank you message. Our family has enjoyed the "ol 67" as we call her so much! This truck is one I affectionately call 'The Camel'. It was built for a customer who ended up having a change of heart so I kept it for myself. It is a full restoration top to bottom and inside and out. These days it serves as a parade and car show vehicle mostly then it goes back into storage at my shop where you are likely to see it if you stop by.

Rover Rash?

 If you are like me, your Rover likely has a few scar, dings, and trail rash marks here and there.
With this in mind, a friend of mine came up with a vinyl bandage made specifically for my Singing Camel Rovers... and now you can get one too!
These Rover-Aid bandages are made from high quality vinyl and measure 10" x 3.5". Just click on the thumbnail image at the right to order.

 Hi there, my name is Jim and I am the official shop dog here at Singing Camel Land Rovers. Yeah yeah, I know what you are thinking... official shop dog? Isn't that a bit like saying the official dish soap for NASCAR? Maybe so, but I figure that if camels can sing dogs can talk... or in this case type! The pay isn't so great but at least I get a fancy job title right?
Anyhow... summer is officially here and once again the shop floor is an appropriate temperature for summer afternoon napping. During the winter months I don't care to hang out at the shop much. Perhaps that has something to do with getting my tongue just a BIT too close to a very cold metal vehicle lift. Oh sure, laugh it up... you wouldn't laugh if it was your licker stuck to a shop lift for an afternoon.
Enough of my winter mishaps, let me tell you what we've been up to at the shop these days... you'll have to click on the read more link to find out though!

 OK folks, it is time for a little show and tell. SHOW us your Rovers whether they be old or new, show us your Rovers whether they be red or blue. TELL us a little about your Rover and how it came to be owned by you. After all, there is nothing more fun than sitting inside on a cold fall or winter evening looking through interesting photos of Rovers... that is, as long as you share the same passion for these vehicles as we do!So by all means upload a photo or photos of your favorite Rovers.  We've got a lot of spare parts on hand in our shop. We spent some time Saturday morning adding a number of them to our online catalog and there will undoubtedly be more listed as we find the time.  Mark just recently purchased a 1967 109 S.W. from us and as luck would have it, we get to restore it. This particular restoration will not be a frame off restoration but darn close to it. We invite you to follow along with us here at Singing Camel as we bring it back to life. We've created a new image gallery to track the progress of the restoration.
We will be adding a roof rack from Rovers North. Other work will include cleaning the frame, repainting the Rover in a new color, the installation of a new black interior, new wings etc.
This is a nice solid southwestern vehicle so it isn't full of rust... it just a good going over.
